Jusoor celebrates the accomplishment of the Public Majlises Support Program in the Wilayates of North Al Batinah
In line with it goals in serving the community, Jusoor Foundation succeeded in completing the Public Majlises support program in a number of villages in the wilayats of North Al Batinah Governorate, with a total of (113) Public Majlises, at an investment cost of (565) thousand Omani riyals, distributed over the (6) wilayats in the governorate, which are Shinas, Liwa, Sohar, Saham, Al Khaburah and Al Suwaiq.
His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Suleiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah and Chairman of Jusoor Board of Directors, explained the importance of the Jusoor program to support Public Majlises, which was launched for the first time in 2013 and lasted for nearly ten years, to achieve a number of goals, the most important of which is that these Public Majlises contributed to solidarity and social cohesion among members of society at all levels. He added that Jusoor was keen through this program to preserve the cultural and heritage aspects of the Sultanate of Oman, as the public councils represent a point of communication and interaction in various social and cultural events.
The Governor of North Al Batinah also emphasized that community interaction and hosting of social, cultural and even national events in those Public Majlises contributed to the diversity of events and their continuity throughout the year, as these Public Majlises provide a well-equipped place for the participation of various segments of society.
Jaber bin Sulaiman Al Busaidi, Executive Manager of Jusoor Foundation, indicated that the Public Majlises program was implemented with a funding from OQ, Sohar Aluminium and Vale Oman, and in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior represented by the offices of Their Excellencies the Walyes, with a total of (113) Public Majlises distributed in all the wilayates of North Al Batinah Governorate. Al Busaidi highlighted the distribution of the Majlises as (52) Majlises were established in the Wilayat of Sohar, (12) Majlises in the Wilayat of As-Suwaiq, (25) Majlises in the Wilayat of Al-Khaboura, (8) Majlises in the Wilayat of Saham, (10) Majlises in the Wilayat of Liwa, and (6) Majlises in the Wilayat of Shinas. He added: “The program was designed to provide fixed partial support to each Public Majlises according to the societal requests received from the people, and by the end of this year this program ends completing 10 years since its launch in 2013. Indeed, 110 villages from the governorate’s wilayats are benefiting from the program and we are happy to say that our social investment in this program has achieved its goals in the best way aspired by all.
Jusoor Foundation’s contribution to the establishment of Public Majlises in the wilayates of North Al Batinah Governorate had a great impact on the needs of the beneficiaries of this program in holding their social events in weddings and funerals, their religious and cultural events, and their meetings to discuss their societal issues. It has been witnessed and confirmed by a number of people from the society, as Sheikh Khalid bin Saif Al Hosni from the village of Qasabiya Al Hawasneh in the Wilayat of Al Khaboura said that the establishment of the Public Majlis in the village contributed to creating a space for holding many social events such as wedding or funeral events, and also saved the beneficiaries of the village the expenses of renting places to hold these events where tents were previously rented for such occasions. He added: “The Public Majlis, which Jusoor Foundation contributed to its establishment, is considered an architectural masterpiece for the people of the village and it is a permanent headquarters equipped to hold any event. It also achieves communication and cooperation, moreover; we benefited from it in holding lectures, seminars and consultations among the people.”
Ali bin Muhammad Al-Ajmi from the Wilayat of Liwa says that the Public Majlis in the new village of Liwa, which Jusoor contributed to establishing it, contributed to the consolidation of friendly relations between members of society in a great way, as it ultimately amounts to developing national cohesion among the spectrum of society in various occasions. The village people benefited from it in their joys and comforts, such as wedding occasions, marriage contract, or mourning, to spare them the costly spending in the halls of commercial events and other costs incurred by the individuals. Equipping these Public Majlises with spaces that suits these occasions is a goal that has been achieved, Thanks God.
