Jusoor Inaugurates Al Suwaiq Sports Club Investment Building to Advance Financial Sustainability in the Sports Sector on Omani Youth Day
Jusoor Foundation celebrated the inauguration of the investment building of Al Suwaiq Sports Club, under the patronage of H.E. Basil Ahmed Al Rawas, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth for Sports and Youth, and in the presence of H.E. Mohammed Suleiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah and Chairman of Jusoor Foundation, alongside senior officials and representatives of partner and supporting entities. The project is part of national efforts to enhance the financial sustainability of sports clubs and reinforce their social role, in line with Oman’s strategic direction to diversify sources of income and promote sports investment in alignment with Oman Vision 2040.
Jaber Suleiman Al Busaidi, Executive Manager of Jusoor Foundation, affirmed that the project represents a pioneering model in sustainable social investment. It is designed to empower Al Suwaiq Sports Club in generating its own revenue streams, supporting its athletic and community initiatives, and enhancing its contribution to youth development and local engagement. He stated: “This initiative is one of Jusoor’s key corporate social responsibility projects, jointly funded by the Foundation’s founding companies OQ, Sohar Aluminium, and Vale in Oman in cooperation with the Office of the Governor of North Al Batinah and Al Suwaiq Sports Club. It reflects the strategic public-private partnership to support national development.”
He further clarified that the investment building was developed on a construction area of 1,100 square meters with engineering foundations that allow for the addition of ten future floors. The facility includes two commercial showrooms on the first floor and four office units on the second floor, in addition to designated parking spaces. The total social investment value of the project amounts to OMR 280,000.
Sheikh Dr. Hamdan Saba’ Al Saadi, Vice Chairman of Al Suwaiq Sports Club, emphasized the club’s pride in receiving this milestone project, stating that it marks a transformative step in strengthening the club’s financial independence and expanding its future investment capacity. He added that the project will play a pivotal role in supporting the club’s programs and aligns with the strategic vision of H.H. Sayyid Firas bin Fatik, Chairman of the Board, to diversify revenue streams and ensure long-term financial sustainability. The building comprises two floors featuring a commercial showroom and administrative offices as part of the first phase, with the second phase to include residential units for lease, enhancing the club’s future investment returns.
The project was implemented with the generous support of Jusoor Foundation and the Office of the Governor of North Al Batinah as part of joint efforts to develop sports infrastructure and ensure sustainable operations. The inauguration reflects Al Suwaiq Sports Club’s strategic direction to achieve balance between sports development and financial growth, further positioning the club as a leading sports institution in the Sultanate of Oman.
This initiative is an extension of Jusoor Foundation’s track record in supporting sports clubs in North Al Batinah Governorate through the development of income-generating assets. Previous projects have included investment buildings for Sohar Sports Club, Al Khaboura Sports Club, Al Salam Sports Club (in both Liwa and Shinas branches), and Majees Sports Club, with a total social investment exceeding OMR 1,155,000. This reflects the Foundation’s enduring commitment to advancing financial sustainability and strengthening the role of sports clubs in community development and youth empowerment.
