Jusoor Organizes Community Session to Rethink Health as Community Wellbeing
Jusoor Foundation organized a community session titled Eid Al Nazar: Rethinking Health as Community Wellbeing at the National University of Science and Technology, College of Medicine and Health Sciences in Sohar, with the participation of nearly 150 attendees from various segments of the community, including school and university students, as well as individuals interested in health and community affairs.
The session was held as part of Jusoor Foundation’s focus on community wellbeing, one of its key areas of work, and its commitment to raising awareness of the broader concept of health as an essential element of quality of life.
The session hosted Dr. Fannah bint Abdullah Al Fannah Al Arimiya, President of the Omani Public Health Awearness Association, who delivered an insightful and interactive discussion on the importance of rethinking the concept of health and linking it to daily, social, and psychological factors that influence individuals and communities. These include awareness, prevention, psychological and social balance, the quality of the surrounding environment, and access to health services.
The session opened a space for dialogue with the audience on the role of individuals, communities, and institutions in building a healthier and more balanced lifestyle. It also emphasized the importance of viewing health as a shared responsibility that requires continuous awareness, effective partnerships, and sustainable initiatives.
The event also highlighted the role of health and social projects in promoting community wellbeing, and how social investment can contribute to improving the quality of life of individuals and families while supporting a healthier and more sustainable community environment.
This session comes as part of Jusoor Foundation’s ongoing efforts to deliver knowledge-based and community-focused initiatives that encourage dialogue around issues connected to people’s lives within society. It also reflects the Foundation’s direction in transforming partnerships and resources into sustainable community impact.
